Project Management Consultants that put people and interactions first before process and tools
1. Influencing the need for progression
Influence the need for progression: Before embarking on any change initiative, it's important to understand the need for progression and communicate it to stakeholders. This involves identifying pain points, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and demonstrating the value of Agile methodologies in addressing these issues.
2. Partnering with change agents and adopters
Why lead change on your own, partner with someone who can add value to your vision. Change agents are individuals within the organization who have a vested interest in driving change and are willing to support the Agile PMO approach. By partnering with change agents, the PMO can tap into their knowledge and expertise, and leverage their influence to drive change.
3. Communicate Vision consistently
Tell people more about the services you offer. Sharing your vision upwards, outwards and inwards. A key aspect of Agile PMO is to communicate the vision consistently and clearly to all stakeholders. This involves articulating the benefits of Agile methodologies and how they align with the organization's overall strategy and goals.
4. Collaborate on Change
Agile PMO is all about collaboration and co-creation. This involves working closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and end-users, to develop solutions that meet their needs and are aligned with the Agile PMO approach.
5. Develop iteratively and incrementally
Agile PMO emphasises the development of solutions iteratively and incrementally. This involves breaking down complex projects into smaller, more manageable chunks, or sprints, and delivering value in each iteration.
6. Up skill / coach and develop capability
Iron sharpens iron, you have got to be a sharp tool and so does your team. Train the mind as well as the body in order to stay in the race. As part of the Agile PMO approach, it's important to upskill, coach, and develop the capability of the team and stakeholders. This involves providing training, coaching, and support to help them adopt Agile methodologies and develop the skills they need to succeed.
7. Enable action and remove barriers
Leaders move from talking about change to creating actions, directing people to the right doors and giving them the keys to open them. Agile PMO is all about enabling action and removing barriers that prevent stakeholders from achieving their goals. This involves providing support, resources, and tools to help stakeholders work more efficiently and effectively, and removing obstacles that impede progress
8. Produce wins and embed change
Finally, the Agile PMO approach aims to produce wins and embed change in the organization. This involves celebrating successes, communicating wins, and reinforcing the value of Agile methodologies to ensure their continued adoption and success.
